The paper should leave space between lines (either double spaced or 1.5 spacing)
and the body of the paper should not exceed 5 pages in length. The body of the paper
excludes the refences, so don't worry if you exceed the 5 page limit when you also print
out the references.
Follow the formating instruction for Molecular Biology and Evolution. You can give the file in a word or pdf format, or make alternative arrangements if you prefer. If you use any tables or figures they should be placed at the end of the manuscript.
The content should flow from the topic of the course. Thus, it can range from a biological problem
that can be addressed in a computational framework to a computational problem that relates to biology.
Write the paper as a review, introducing the area you want to discuss and then develop the more detailed
example you will be presenting. Rather than using sections like "Methods and Materials" or "Results"
you may prefer to use topics that you are covering for section headings after the introduction. A good
example of this is the HMM review by Eddy (1998).
